I’d felt that way for a long time, but during the pandemic, I heard a lot of other people — local folks, my friends and neighbors — saying they wanted a better world, too.

History was happening, and I wanted to talk about it with people. And so I jumped in.

Then history just kept coming, and by the time the protests triggered by the death of George Floyd happened, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to keep up with it all in just a weekly podcast.

I’m adding this newsletter to try and keep up with the pace of the world. And again: *not just nationally*. Locally, things are moving like I’ve never seen in my 17 year career as a journalist and organizer in the Inland Northwest.
